In 2015, the LipoClinic was founded by Dr. Falk-Christian and is now the world leader in surgical lipedema treatment. With the aim of stopping lipedema, Doctor and his team perform 2,500 surgeries per year using the standard they have developed themselves.

The result: an increased quality of life and strengthened self-confidence without pain and suffering!

OUR CLINIC

The LipoClinic is finest in the surgical treatment of lipedema. The experienced surgeon Dr. Falk-Christian founded the LipoClinic 2015 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Doctor and the doctors at the LipoClinic have many years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of lipedema. Their motivation for focusing on the treatment of lipedema was and still is to raise awareness for the physical and mental suffering of the affected patients, due to the missing recognition of lipedema as a disease, in which sport and diet often remain ineffective.

Doctor developed a completely new and sustainably effective surgical method and established self-developed standards for the surgery. Thanks to this method, thousands of women can finally live pain-free and without compression garments. They regain a piece of their femininity and start a new life with strengthened self-confidence!

Together with external institutions, the work of the LipoClinic is scientifically monitored and documented. Studies have consistently shown that our surgical method produces very good results with a low rate of complications. The results of the evaluations serve to further optimise the treatment and surgical standards of lipedema treatment developed at the LipoClinic.

DIFFERENTIATION OF FOUR LIPEDEMA TYPES

The stage of the lipedema is classified by the condition of the skin and of the surrounding tissue. Besides classifying lipedema by the stage, there is also a classification by type. Classification of lipedema by type is based on the affected body areas.

Type 1: The subcutaneous fat is increased particularly in the area of the buttocks and hips. The consequence is the so-called ‘saddlebags‘.

Type 2: The lipedema has spread to the knees. There is an increased formation of fat on the knees’ inner side.

Type 3: The disease extends from the hips to the ankles.

Type 4: Lipedema now also affects the arms. The wrists are not affected.
